Nah,
No second chance.
We have our Hero and that is enough, we wont remember you edmiaston (or whatever).
The only one that last forever is *drum roll*
Chunky Monkey!!!!!
And before you go now ZOMG, whats he on about? think about it:
1. He was so darn insolent to attempt a trade that is worth like 55.000 $ in real world money* not caring about people getting suspicious (WOW, would you have that courage?)
2. He got a sweet little picture of this super power trade:
http://s180.photobucket.com/albums/x...rent=gw666.jpg
(unfortunately, he only got 3 out of 5 "roxxor" points not posting the picture himself. Btw I wonder what he wanted to buy/trade from Max Gladius.. His festival tickets? that would definitely give him another "roxxor" point!)
3. He was a Wammo! (left bottom corner of Maxs wonderful picture if you don't believe me)
4. He even comes to the guildwarsguru forums under the same name as ingame. The one he used to pull his little trick off. This is so godlike I don't even have words for it (even the Devil wears disguises).
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...91&postcount=8
5. He even explains to us, Joe Averages, how he did his magic trick: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ostcount=909)?
(oh well, he pulls the little friend trick, but hey that is just criminals jargon you see, they talk like that).
So tell me is that not reason enough?
P.s. Guyz, the guildwars community can be very happy that those guyz didn't have a brain...
P.p.s second time i posted this, but I just wanted to pay tribute to so much stupidity
P.p.p.s ROFL from the funniest name thread: Duping Was Chunky
* if ingame currency would have been purchased at ebay

The only responses I see right now are those fueled by paranoia and angst.
You honestly think everyone that got banned is guilty? Seriously, you need to get a mental check.
Every single justice system has his flaws, and the biggest one being that the people performing their justice only look at their side of t he story and strike down their hammer upon all those that they find guilty.
How many innocents get sent away that way on a yearly basis?
no, don't even try to count it on your fingers and toes, you'll have to speed grow a couple dozen more.
My point is, don't react so strongly on the subject but think with an objective mind. Everyone that's a returning visitor of these forums and posts here frequently loves the game (I hope) and would put their hand in searing coals for it (figuratively speaking, unless you're a masochist).
And I do support Anet in their fixing of the problem, just not the way they handled it, seeing as they just went over a few criteria and swept a broom over their database.

it would be hilarious if ANet made a new skill 'Duping was Chunky'.

Huh?
Fenrir.. the OP was asking to change ALL recent Bans from perma to time limit..
I can understand that you want Chunky Monkey back in the game after a few updates so we can check if Anet forgot something but ALL of them is just to risky. Some might actually use brain, which is very dangerous.
And do you think Anet really wiped their whole database of all that dc'd more then lets say 700 times in the last two weeks?

P.s. do you really expect a objective, thoughtful, caring reply to such a post at this time? The only place to deal with your ban is here: http://support.guildwars.com

Yes, actually, I do think that everyone that got their account wiped the last 2 days was guilty.

This isnt a justice system, there's no gray areas, there's no lawyers or debate. Anet has the absolute right to delete accounts for whatever grounds they want. Which is why I said everyone was guilty.

Your point is kinda irrelevant since we're not talking about a 'justice system' but about a commercial business banning you from their property for undesirable behavior.

How else where they going to handle it, a public trial maybe? They selected the criteria and acted on them, I'm perfectly happy with it. If anyone feels they've been banned unjustly they can contact support and see if they are willing to reverse the decision.

i dont see what the problem is if they get a second chance.
its not like they downloaded third party software to dupe the items.
They found an error in the game, and used legitimate practice to get the items, its anets fault these people were banned

Stop asking the same in different threads! It is useless.
(he also started this one)
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10186865
Innocent people will see their ban lifted if they submit a case. If you are innocent your ban will be temporarily. Dont make nwe threads with this crap please
(I sound like a mod...perhaps I should apply for a position )

The unjustly banned should be unbanned of course, but making all the bans temporary would be quite foolish, as it would defeat the purpose of the bans in the first place - people would just continue selling their dupped armbraces like nothing happened.

Dupers, the real dupers, should be BANNED.
The people, who bought armbraces, without knowing about duping, should NOT be banned, a time limit ban at the most, or pay their profit back/destroy armbraces....

Thanks for playing but no, you're wrong
The EULA has a clear chapter on exploiting errors/bugs etc and it also lists what the consequences are.

Wrong, there is a difference between a bug and an exploit, although the lines aren't always clear. This wasn't something that just happened, like the quest giving out several armbraces at once. People didn't suddenly find themselves with thousands of armbraces in their inventory, they had to go out of their way to do it.
